MAIN STREET DESIGN GUIDELINES
OUR FOCUS IS SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH COLLABORATION, EDUCATION, ART, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT AND PROACTIVE SOLUTIONS FOR POLICY, DESIGN AND PLANNING.
These voluntary Main Street Design Guidelines highlight strategies for new development any community can use to help new development fit better within our most historic areas while leaving room for creativity and innovation. They were created with extensive and community involvement and participation over five years of grassroots planning, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donated work by dedicated leaders and professionals. If you like what we're doing to proactively guide growth and change, support us by volunteering, follow us or donate to help us bring more support to communities across Portland.
Support for Grassroots-initiated Main St. Design Guidelines
Like other neighborhoods and business associations we work with, we can help you craft a vision, identify your special buildings and opportunity sites to set community goals. Further, we can help engage stakeholders to better understand the important role of design in making density work better.By being proactive rather than reactive you can shape your neighborhood design vision and priorities for the future.
